In order to help insure funding we need to send comments to Christian Elliott.

christian.elliott@prk.sccgov.org

You need to CC your email to:

OHMVR Division
OHVinfo@parks.ca.gov

Some key points you might like to include in your email:

1) How much you enjoy Metcalf Motorcycle Park
2) How often you ride there
3) How popular the park is
4) The importance of proper trail maintenance
5) The importance of Rangers
6) The importance of erosion control

Below is an example of a email that was sent off.

Dear OHMVR Division,

I often ride my dirt bike at Metcalf Motorcycle Park. I see thousands of other riders who also enjoy Metcalf as it is one of the most popular parks in the South Bay.

The grant money that the state provides to Metcalf is extremely important for the continued maintenance of Metcalf Motorcycle Park.

Due to the popularity of Metcalf, weekly maintenance of the trails and tracks are required for safe operation. In addition erosion control is also an important safety concern as well as ensuring a sustainable future for OHV activity.

The Rangers and staff at Metcalf Motorcycle Park do a wonderful job and we all appreciate their dedication. So the money for this grant is money well spent.

Thank you,

I just an email.

This is what I said:

Dear OHMVR Division,

The San Jose Metcalf Motorcycle Park has been one of the greatest parks I
enjoy every month. I ride there about 3 times a month, to be able to
relax from hard work, and be able to meet new friends and enjoy the
outdoors.

This park gets a lot of friendly visitors from all over the bay area, I
also found that this park has the most friendly people around that respect
others and the park itself.

It is important for the trails to be maintain to keep the safety of the
riders to prevent crashing in to very large ruts that could happen from
lack of maintenance on the trails. It would also help prevent water run off
from raining season from flooding areas where it does not normally flood
and affect the wild life. Maintaining the park benefit the riders of the
park as well as the wild life of the park.

The role of the park ranger is very important as well at the park to
help bring safety to others, and help others that require assistance when
needed. The park rangers would play a big role to help evacuate the park
in a emergency if a major disaster is to happen. This park has also play
its role to provide safety training to groups like San Jose Search and
Rescue.
